For a drought year, we sure experienced numerous rainy days, all of which appeared on our scheduled Jogathon days. Due to publishing deadlines, final results and thank yous will be featured in our May newsletter.
Third through sixth grade classes are preparing for the upcoming California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP.) All grade levels will be testing on Chromebooks in their classrooms beginning in late April into mid-May. See a schedule by grade level later in the newsletter and posted on- ParentSquare. Please avoid scheduling any doctor’s appointments or trips during this testing period. Please help us by making sure that your child arrives to school on time and emotionally ready to take this state exam. We need to have our students well-rested and prepared to take this test each morning. Students arriving after testing has begun will wait in the office until testing is completed. Make ups are scheduled in the computer lab for students who are ill. Parents are reminded that volunteers are not allowed in the classroom during testing times.
I hope to see you out at Open House on Thursday, April 26th from 6:00-8:00PM. Families will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, the art show, and book fair. The book fair will be open during lunch and after school (except for Thursday) Monday through Thursday in the library.
Public Schools Week is April 16-20 and a good time to make an appointment to visit classrooms between 9:00 and 11:00.
Please return your “intent to continue” forms (pink) to the office as soon as possible. Annual Address Verifications are due no later than May 4th (yellow). Thank you for helping return this information in a timely manner.
Kindergarten Registration is now in progress. If you know a kindergartner (or preschooler) who is planning to attend Kellogg in the fall, but missed the information night or who has not registered yet, please encourage them to stop in the office.
