Dear Families,
October is a busy month for Kellogg! We participated in the National Walk to School Day earlier in the month and listened as our 6th graders demonstrated different ways to exhibit our Character Counts pillar for the month “Respect.” Students are busy learning math with our new math adoption K-5 Bridges Program and grade 6 CPM. All specialists are up and running and providing some grade level planning time for teachers each week. Last weekend we had a successful Garden Workday and cleaned up our school garden as well as planted a succulent garden bordering the playground. Some of the same families later joined us for the UCSB Men’s Soccer Game in which several Goleta Union Schools were recognized. This week our community comes together for our Family Science Night from 6:00-8:00 on Thursday. Parents are reminded of the 12:00 dismissal on Friday, October 16th as well as our special Hawaiian Spirit Day. And make sure not to miss our special Kellogg Chaucer’s Event onSunday, October 18th from 4:00-6:00PM. Get some early holiday shopping done! Parents are encouraged to sign up for a Family Portrait session on Saturday, October 24th. Information has been sent home via Friday Folders. Check out our November newsletter with information regarding upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences.
